Summer Lovin’: Ellie & Nick’s Magical Wedding Day

Summer lovin’ happened so fast…

That’s exactly how we felt about Ellie & Nick’s wedding day. One minute we were meeting them in October, helping plan the big day, and even finding their first home together by March — and the next thing we knew, it was June 28th and we were watching them say “I do” on one of the most beautiful summer evenings.

Yes, it may have been a tad warm (okay, it was hot!), but looking through photos by Ana Pierson Photography (@anapiersonphotography) ……stunning photos, you’d never know anyone broke a sweat. The whole day felt effortless — joyful, elegant, and oh-so-summery in the very best way.

At It’s KEE Events, every wedding is special. But what makes it so meaningful for us is who we get to work with. When Ellie and Nick first reached out, they came to us as a team — full of energy, excitement, and vision. Ellie and her mom had an incredible eye for detail. They knew what they wanted, but they were also wonderfully open to pivots (which, let’s be honest, is a must when planning an outdoor summer wedding at Laurel Hall!).

Over the months, we got to know Ellie and Nick in such a unique way, not just through wedding planning, but also through home buying. It’s rare to spend so much real-life time with a couple, and we can honestly say, by the time their wedding rolled around, we were already missing them.

Now for the details, because there are so many to gush about.

The ceremony took place at Christ the King, Nick’s childhood parish. The church itself is stunning, so not much décor was needed. Both mothers lit the unity candle, and a memory candle was also placed to honor loved ones no longer with us — a small but meaningful touch that carried through the rest of the evening.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the breathtaking Laurel Hall and Ellie’s vision brought the historic space to life.

From the moment you walked in, the fireplaces were covered in lush florals, greenery, and glowing candles. One table displayed wedding portraits from past generations — a “love stories” table that we truly hope becomes a forever trend. Nearby, a memorial table honored those not with us, continuing the tribute from the church.

Two custom bars, one inside and one outside — featured Ellie & Nick’s custom monogram and personalized drink menus. A heart-shaped cake and mirrored seating chart waited in the solarium, while outside, the terrace sparkled with romantic florals, twinkling candles, and thoughtful touches like fans at every seat (a total hit). Towering ferns framed the fountains and sweetheart table, and the florals from the church found their second home behind the couple’s seats.

The wedding party arrived early to wrap up portraits around the venue and ending, of course, with a champagne tower toast (yes, please!).

As the sun began to dip, dinner was served and toasts were shared, full of laughter, love, and happy tears. Special dances followed on the terrace, leading into an open dance floor inside the solarium where the energy never let up.

While some guests danced the night away, others lingered outside, enjoying the cigar bar or soaking up that perfect summer night feeling. It was peaceful. Joyful. Everything you hope to give your guests when you host a wedding — and Ellie and Nick nailed it.

The night wrapped with a late-night pizza snack (always a crowd-pleaser), one final dance for the newlyweds, and a big, joyful cheer as their guests sent them off into their next adventure.
